Fairly new, so please excuse the inexperience.
I have a 12 volt application where a very quick micro switch will trigger a relay. The relay needs to stay shut more than 250 ms (closer to a second would be ideal). I am using a USB game controller with wires soldered to one of the switch to gather the time between micro switch kick (30 seconds to 8 minutes). Program polling time faster than 250 ms really slow the PC. The PC USB board uses 5 volts.
Can someone provide a simple diagram solution? Surely this has been done before. Specific part numbers would be nice if possible.
I may have found a solution, but it is rather expensive.

what exactly are u trying to get donewith this??

Stretch the open/close/open event of a microswitch that is less than 250 ms to greater than 250 ms or near a second on a relay if possible. The relay has 12 volts going to the microswitch. And there is 5 volts going to a USB interface board that needs to be closed more than 250 ms to be picked up by the PC polling software. Is this explanation understandable?

It is probably best to stretch the signal before the relay.
This application is for tracking drilling time, the amount of time it takes to drill one foot. The microswitch is the pulse that indicates one foot has been drilled. Thank you.
