starter kill with ebrake on

i want to make my blazer not start unless the ebrake is on. its probab;y very simple to do, but i am probably nuking it. i was thinking of using a relay to have the starter killed unless the ebrake is on. but im not sure how exactly to do this. a normally open relay? but of the ebrake was set sending voltage to that relay keeping it closed, wouldnt that put a drain on the battery?

If the Emergency brake is 12v+ then you can use it to trigger a relay to go open with key. If the Emergency brake wire is 12v- pin 85 to ignition 12v+ pin 85 to 12v- E brake wire pin 30 to ignition side of cut starter wire pin 87a to starter side of cut wire I would think that this would work for what you are looking to do. or below and substitute amp turn on with 12v+ from brake wire that goes 12v+ when you step on it. Or use cigarette lighter to complete circuit.The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.

pin 85 to ignition 12v+

pin 86 to 12v- E brake wire pin 30 to ignition side of cut starter wire pin 87 to starter side of cut wire                             Notice change on this line too

Techman had 2 85s and no 86       You could also get the 12v+ for 85 from the Ignition side of the wire you cut.  85 and 30 can both go the the same wire.
