Looking for wire diagram or chart for remote start install on a 2010 Dodge Ram SLT Quad Cab Automatic with 5.7 litre Hemi.  Truck has "tip start" wireless ignition node (WIN) which uses the remote keyless entry (RKE) as the ignition key.  I would like to do a data cable install.

Also, does anyone know for sure if this truck has MUX ignition and parking lights?  During my research I have found some info that makes me think 'yes' and some 'no'.

Any help with either question will be greatly appreciated.

I'm new to the site and pretty much a novice although I have done a couple of W2W installs in the past.

Bulldog Security has a wiring guide for your truck.  Here is the link :  http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.asp

Yes, the  truck has Mux lights.  As a suggection, do yourself a favor and use an iDatalink bypass module.  The ADS-ALSL CH will work nicely.  Does a lot with very few connections ( 5 ) to the truck.  W2W mode between the remote start and iDatalink module works flawlessly.  All that's left from the remote start to the truck is Power, Ground, hood trigger and Horn.

Thanks kreg357:

I got the wire info from Bulldog.  It shows + and - parking light.  The - with a resistor.  I also found some diagrams at this link:

Gonna have to do some studying to figure out how the MUX lights work.  I'm using an idatalink Multi 64 with ADS-AL(DL)-CH4 (V1.7).  I hope to get DBI data link to work.  If not I'll go W2W.   Some, including Audiovox TS say DBI won't work with the idatalink bypass and firmware.  Others say it will.

Thanks again,

slsles

Sorry about the cut and paste form Word.  New guy forgot the rules.  The link for the diagrams is:

The ADS AL CA module is one of my favorites.  The CH4 firmware works good.  I might be wrong about  the parking lights, they aren't MUX according to the CH4 install guide or they found away to turn them on without a resistor.  They suggest that a WHITE/ Light Green wire in the drivers kick will turn them on with a (+) signal.  See page 4 of their install guide.  ( The WHITE/ Light Green wire might only do the drivers side...)

If you want to try MUX like Bulldog suggests, do this:  Use a 30/40 A SPDT relay.

Use the (+) Parking Light output from the remote start going to Relay Pin 86.

Relay pin 85 to chassis ground.

Relay Pin 87 to chassis ground thru a 1,000 ohm resistor.

Cut the White Parking Light wire at a convenient place.

Relay pin 30 to car side of the cut White wire.

Relay pin 87a to the switch side of the cut White wire.

You can test this by cutting the White wire and connecting a 1,000 resistor attached to Chassis ground to the car side of the cut wire.

I prefer to do W2W with all my installs.  It's more connections to solder but always gives reliable results.

Good luck.

Thanks again kreg357

The CH4 install guide says if modue is V1.23 or later you don't need the relay and can connect the MUX output of the AL-CA directly to the p-lights MUX wire.  I'm about ready to go W2W.  I've tried DBI without luck.  The AL-CA reponse indicates it is receiving a false ground from the RS.  Right now it has me stumped.

If you switch over to W2W, do a factory reset and then set it to "Standard" mode ( 2 blinks ).  I have used the ADS AL CA with CH4 firmware on a bunch of Dodge Grand Caravans.  Always W2W.  Never had an issue.  It is a lot of connections but always works first time.

The relay for the parking lights is only needed for the older ADS AL CA modules, if you have the 64, you won't need it.

Again, thanks kreg357

I will probably go with W2W as you recommend.  I would like to get the DBI to work but I've already invested too much time.  I got golf to play and other stuff to do.
