I have recently bougt a sony xav-7w (7 inch lcd screen). I have a 75 watt APC inverter wired into the 12 volts, and plug my ps2 into the inverter. When I try to play dvd's I get lines all down the screen. I even get the lines when I plug the ps2 into the inverter without even powering the ps2 on. Anyone know anything about this and have any ideas?? I powered the ps2 to my house AC power with an extension cord and the video on the lcd screen is perfect, as soon as I plug it into the inverter the screen becomes garbled. Please help and Thanks in advance.

There are two causes:

  • Make sure you have absolute ground on the power inverter's ground wire
  • Make sure that you are not running the power wire along side your RCA wires
