I replaced the old radio in my 2005 VW Golf 2L TDI DSG with an Eonon D5153. I then bought a reversing camera and connected it to the reversing light for power, and running the single wire (coaxial cable?) to the green corresponding socket on the radio. I tested it with the ignition on and the engine not running. It worked fine, over-riding everything with a clear color picture when I selected reverse. However, with the engine running, I select reverse and the screen goes black with only a camera icon in the top left corner. I pressed the “reset” on the radio, and even removed and disconnected the head unit from the CAN-BUS and the wiring harness in order to. “Turn it off and turn it on again” But it still remembers not to work when the engine is running.
I would appreciate a wiring diagram of a typical rev. camera install.
Can anyone help?

Back again and still looking for answers. To me it seems like a wiring or triggering issue. I need some input from someone with more experience than I have.reversing camera -- posted image.

Hey,
You ran power to the review camera, but did you hook up the rearview control wire which is the 5th wire from top left on the harness of your radio.

for the camera to work it also needs 12 volts power. so you obviously run the coaxel cable to corrosponding output on back of radio like you said you did, 2 you need to tap on to reverse wire which is the wire that essentially makes your rear buck up lights come on which you said you did. 3 you will also need to run another wire to a switched 12v source, basicly anything that comes on when your is in ACC mode like the radio ,maybe cigarette lighter[check to make sure this is switched 12v not constant}. 4 black wire gets ground. so recap your camera came with 3 wires 1 coaxel cable goes to {back of radio cam output} 2red wire goes to {switched 12 volts} acc fuse not recommended but will work, anything that turns on when car is ACC mode with key} 3 black wire [ground neg- chassis]. an last 4th wire is the wire coming from back of radio usually green or GREEN / WHITE goes to reverse wire of vehicle.{12 volt wire coming from reverse light} to check for this wire put car in run position with key do not start it, put car in reverse locate the reverse bulb use a test light or ddm an probe one of the wires coming from bulb socket an one of them is 12v. once you find it just double check by taking car out of reverse an probing that same wire, if its not 12v anymore than thats the wire you use. good luck.
