I installed a double din android dvd/navigation player and 2 amps in my 2005 cadillac devile, everything worked great, steering wheel controls, navigation, wifi, internet, youtube. When I installled the backup cam video wire to cam in and the additional power lead from the video cable to the reverse and the other connections to the camera , power connected to the reverse light and ground to the reverse light ground. the camera gets power because the leds light up , but there is no picture only a black screen and after 30 seconds it does a hard reboot on the entire system, really ugly reboot. once I disconnet the reverse wire from the positive , no issues, obviously because the camera is no longer hooked up, any ideas as to why it would be causing such a major issue?

Connect the radio's reverse trigger wire to the radio's red wire. If it still does this reboot thing, you have a bad radio. If it does not reboot, you have something different than 12 volts DC powering your reverse bulbs.

Are you saying to connect both the reverse wire from the radio harness and the red wire attached to the video cable to the red power wire to the cars harness. Is that correct or do you mean to hook up the red power wire attached to the video cable to the red power from the cars harness?

No, use the radio switched wire to power the reverse trigger wire of the radio. This way you know you have a good 12 volt DC source for the trigger wire.
