     hey guys hows things over here. i just recently purchased a lovely pioneer dvh-p6500 this thing is AWESOME,.. lol anyway i want to add navi to it, i was wondering what the cheapest way is to install this to have a full feature navigation unit in my SUV i was thinking along the lines of using some cars navigation unit as the base, if yall have any idea please let me know thanks alot guys in advance.

go with the pioneer avic-80. thats what i have. i added it to be avh-6500 and it works aweseome. The touch screen is the best part, you wont ever eed remotes again.

have you tried changing bakcgrounds via the PCMCIA port? I can do so successfully but when I shut the car off and turn back on the background reverts to the default one. NOT the one I loaded in. Do you have the same issue? I mentioned this on a Pioneer message board and an employee stated that it IS a known problem...whether they fix it is another story. That's about the only issue I have with this unit...but in my opinion it should be flawless. The newer version(AVIC-88DVD) is coming out soon it might not have this issue. the AVIC-N1 doesn't have it also.
