It is time once again for the superhero's here at the12volt.com to help another poor helpless sap out of a mess.

I recently pruchased a crimeguard 850 i3 with the plan to install it myself.  Like all good little boys i did some research on my vehicle (toyota tacoma 2002) and found my wiring diagram and some interesting information on other possible challenges i could face while trying to install an alarm.  I was, however totally unprepared for what I found when i received my alarm.  There is no installation manual with the alarm! I may know how to access all of the wires in my vehicle, but I have no idea which wires they connect to on my alarm! WHAT am I going to do? anyone outthere have an install manual for a crime Guard 850 i3 that I could buy or borrow?

if u dont mind me askin, how much did u get the 850 i3 for?  I tried to find that model, but crutchfield only had the 745i3, so I went with that.  I love it too, but I'd really like the remote start  :(

I purchased it on ebay. There is a guy selling them on ebay  new for 119 plus shipping for a new unit.  The guy is a little slow to ship. Crutchfield is way overpriced.

I called omega and they said that they had a batch of the 850's that left the factory without an install manual, but they are sending me one.  The tech guy was very responsive and the omega folks seemed eager to correct the problem.  Hats off to Omega.

The guy sells them on ebay. He has an ebay store.  The store is ikes electronics.  It looks like he actually just has them drop shipped from his distributor.  go to this link.

if you buy one you will probably find no install manual.  Just call Omega and have them send you one or i can make copies and mail it to you.

thanks motman, I appreciate your help.  Funny thing is, I still have this 745i3 in the box, so I'll ship it on back to crutchfield, get the better model, and save some cash too.

I'll let you know if I don't get the manual, again I appreciate your help.  About how long do u think I should expect to wait on the shipping?

Thanks again!

heh I bought my Ungo MS2004 from eBay for $65 myself, and ran into the same exact problem. no wiring data at ALL. not even a simple color code sheet.
Clarion, owners of Ungo, refused to release any information when I called customer service, telling me it has to be installed professionally or I void my warranty entirely. I said okay screw the warranty, give me the info. Still no joy.
Nothing on the web or their site either
I ended up contacting a semi-local shop who carries the 2004, and got the diagram from them.
If anyone purchases an MS2004 for installing yourself, I'd be happy to supply this coveted information, free of charge. *grin*
Great alarm now that it's in though! heh I added a few extra touches to it and now it's about as impregnable as an alarm can get.
2 4-button remotes (arm, disarm, silent arm/disarm and momentary aux-1 for hood-bolt), and aux-2 latched for 30 second headlight illum. at night when approaching the car.
dome light surv.
parking light flasher
horn honk
battery-backup siren
screamer siren under the dash to piss off would-be thieves
trunk pin
door monitoring
impact (Ungo, and a second one from Alpine)
Radar-proximity
power locks
power window roll-up modules
starter-kill
electronic hood-lock bolt
glass-brakage microphone
1600mcd Yellow LED (custom work there heh shows well through 35% window tint)
Driver's door unlock priority
valet switch.
the BCM is mounted with the window modules over the steering column below the gauge cluster. makes it nearly impossible to reach without tearing out the dash and cluster.
Over all I'm pretty happy with the system so far. Took me a good 4 or 5 days worth of work getting it all in though.. LOL

I got it about 10 days after i had sent the money.  no really that bad i guess, i just got a little frustrated that the guy didn't want to email me back.  I was probably  in too much of a hurry to get the alarm.
