I just blew my serpentine belt, and have replced it, know the car will not start. Is there a kill switch on the motor of the car or do I have to reset something?. The belt blew as I was excelreating up hill, and I lost power to the motor.

or if the belt thing checks out than one check all fuses with a meter not trial and error. and also you can try resetting the computer by removing the batt for a while... that thing with the belts is a good point why did the belt brake. warn down or just all of a sudden.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

ya the starter turns the motor but no spark to the motor . I've checked all fuses and they're o.k . thats what  has me messed up. The belt was replaced last year due to broken  pully arm. Iwas also charged for an other belt when the water pump let go a few weeks later . than a few months later  the motor blew, and was replaced with a rebuilt. the water pump let go on the new motor and was not covered on warranty so I fgure when they removed it to do the second water pump it was damaged, and eventually broke under stress. thanks for your help good tips but now you no why I asked abot the kill switch. the motor size is a 3.3 pontiac engine.
