Alright everyone I got a problem. I got a 88 Jaguar with 2 Sony XPLOD 12s and a 800watt amp. Here is my problem if you pop my trunk it BANGS and BANGS well but as soon as you close the trunk and get in. All you feel is vibrations. No more thump! I know and have been told that this is do to the fact that just like Lexus's the gas tank is behind the backseat and therefore is holding everything in my trunk which I could not agree with more because when I get out the car it sounds like Gorrilla's are in my damn trunk but when you get in it just feels like you're sitting on a woman's  "pocket rocket". I've been told I need to port my rear deck "area right by the back window" to let the sound thru since its no ported because the mids are located under the back seat. If this is the case can somebody plase leme know how to do this and if that not tru can somebody tell me what the problem is. And my loast question is is it possible to connect the port in the rear deck directly to the box. oh by the way I have a sealed box.good or bad? Thank in advance.Jaguar XJ6 sound not coming thru..port? -- posted image.

One quick fix would be to get a 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 speaker grill and cut out the hole in your rear deck and place the grill over it, that will allow the bass to breathe into the car. The only other real solution I have had luck with in European cars with tight trunks is to build a ported or bandpass enclosue into the trunk and position the ports so that they are firing through the rear deck, most Mercedes are easy to do this since the already come with a so called sub in the rear deck. On your Jaguar you are going to have to cut the hole yourself and "dress it up".

If you decide to try to do the quick fix and just cut a hole you might want to experiment with the positioning of the sub box; ie subs facing back seat, subs facing trunk lid, etc. Hope this helps

Thanx a million for the cutting it out idea I jsut thought of that today myself but was unsure if it would werk. About the bandpass box How would I attach the ports to the rear deck? wouldn't such a long port kill the effect? Do you have any pics of this being done? Or could explain it a lil better. Normally what is the best position for the subs ie facing rear, upward, or towards the interior? Thank Again.

The bandpass box you would have to calculate the correct port length then cut your hole out of the rear deck and make the port flush with the rear deck and then go into your box. Well I tried to download some pics to show you but they are over the 30kb file size. As for the position of the subs you should experiment with it and see what sounds the best, typically the best pathlength or sound comes from facing the subs so that they fire towards the taillights.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't fix your brakes, so I made your horn louder"
