I have a Donnelly auto-dimming mirror that I picked up from ebay.  The mirror has map lights.  It has a 7 pin connector and I am trying to figure out how the wires hook up.  The following wires exit the connector:

Brown

Black

Green

Gray

Pink

Empty

Orange

Any help would be appreciated.

Don't know what color would do what but one is prob for the map light power + - and maybe door trigger one wire for the backup lights circuit for the car ( mirror goes back to normal when backing up)  maybe for the sensors to tell when bright light behind you and when it is dark in front of  the mirror or another wire for the headlights circuit in your car so instead of a sensor to tell it is dark outside the headlight activate the mirror.

Hope this give you an idea of the wires for the mirror

I had one in a rental car I rented once I was going to swap it out for my old mirror untill I found how many wires were on the mirror.

Spoke to Donnelly...the wire color doesn't matter.  It's the connector pin position.  If you look at the back of the connector, the pins are numbered 1-7 (very small letters).  Here's what the connect to.

1 - +12v one when ignition and acc is on / 2 - ground / 3 - +12v when reverse lights are on (turns mirror off - not really necessary) / 4 - +12v to outside drivers mirror (if also electrochromic) / 5 - +12v to outside passenger mirror / 6 - door switch - grounded when doors are open  / 7 - +12v to battery constantly on (for map/courtesy lights in mirror).
