I have hooked up a Summit tach in my 04 Accent. I tapped the grey wire pin #8 off of the ECU for my signal. The tach does work but it doesnt read the same as my stock tach any ideas why?

I had a similar problem with my 2003 accent i had a Sunpro guage and had the same problem mine had a difference of arounb 300 rpms between the two. I taped into the gray wire behind the guage cluster but its the same thing. I think i had the problem because i had a cheap guage.
