I want to install a alarm / keyless entry in a 1999 Pathfinder. I have the wiring diagram, but wondered if some of the pros might share a couple of pointers with me. Like,

1) Do I have to disable the factory security system....how?

2) Where's the easiest place to tie into the door locks, 12+power

3)Anything else that may help.........thanks in advance...you guys are a big help with this stuff    Just a little help with '99 Pathfinder -- posted image.

first you need a dei 555u your truck has immobileizer system . this needs to be used or the car will not remote start. you will loose a factory  key for remote start . factory disarm is in the keyless entry module colored. light green and and is negative and has to be atached to aftermarket alarms output for disarming alarms. before you activate this try to see if the alarms turns on and off with lock/unlock. door locks are at the same keyless entry unit they are lt GREEN/ red and brown this is negative ./  you dont need any relays for this system just tapinto the wires and try lock unlock and if it is opposite than switch the two wires and your good to go .

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
