replace my canopy glass with fiberglass?

I broke the back glass out of my Canopy. The glass is expensive, Plastic from Lowes is too. I'm wondering if I can make a new back glass out of Fiberglass? Have any of you guys ever made a Translucent or fairly clear window, an Eighth of an inch thick, and almost a 4'X 6' sheet of it? It would be a little more People-resistant than the Glass was eh? I didnt want to make another Plastic window that looks like this: America is a Capitalistic Republic. I'm a good Capitalist. I wish everybody was!

It wouldnt at all be clear or semi clear, it would look worse than that small window.

stick with perspex or something else or close it in completely (although i think that would look terrible)
