Is there any way of wiring this scenario?

I have a 3rd brake light that is made up of 8-10 leds in a horizontal line.  It is a simple 12v, and ground.

I want to get one of those scanners, and i guess take the "brain" of that and hook up the output to my 3rd brake light.  I will probably wire a relay to bypass the scanner during normal operation, and have the scanning effect when alarm is armed.

Any help or input would be appreciated.

Great idea, but it will need a lot of wiring work. You'll need to create a way to isolate each of the leds and the reconnect them when the alarm is disarmed. Without seeing the actual lights and circuits, we can't say much more.

In our opinion, it's a bit over ambitious unless you have experience in this kind of thing.
