led marker lights

I have a 2006 Ford F-350 Crew Cab and I'm planning on putting (3) 12-LED amber marker lights on each side, under the doors.  In addition to being marker lights, I plan to make them flash with OEM turn signals.  I've done some research and in another topic/post, someone recommended using a relay wired between the flasher and marker light feeds (relay grounds through the filaments) apply power the LEDs.  I did a test set-up using this method and it worked perfect.  However, I'd rather not use electromechanical relays because they can be noisy, so I'm wondering if I can use solid-state relays in the same manner (wired between the flasher and marker light feeds).

I actually got it to work using a resistor on the marker light feed.  However, I rewired my relays to only light the LEDs lights when the marker lights/headlights are on.  I wasn't sure sure about heat build-up with the resistors, plus I didn't use a diode on the "shared" (one marker light feed powers both sides) marker light feed and I was getting feedback to the opposite side when one side was flashing.  Anyway, it's still a work in progress.
