Hi, Total newbie here...

I purchased a 12 inch Cerwin Vega Dual 2 Ohm Voice Coil Sub (HED 12.2) and a Monoblock Cerwin Vega 300.1 Watt Amp.

On the back of the amp there are four speaker outlets (+) ( - )   (+) (-)      On the wiring diagram it says to hook up a single voice sub, use only the first (+) (-) for wiring and Minimum Impedance = 2 Ohms.

However, for the dual voice coil sub that I have it says to use both (+) (-) (+) (-) BUT each voice coil must be 4 Ohms or greater!!!  (Which they are not,,,,only 2 ohms)

Am I screwed? Or is there a way to wire this and still get good sound and not blow anything? Can I wire it the way it explains for the single voice coil, but will I loose out on quality of sound? Or can I wire both coils in Series or something like that?

Thanks

And to

Option 2 (series) = 4 ohm load
Voice coils wired in series
Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 4, 2, or 1 ohm mono

Do not connect one voice coil to each set of connectors on the amp.  On the amp, both of the positive terminals are connected together, as are both negative terminals.  If you connect one coil to each set of connectors of the amp, it will be running 1 ohm.
