The one thing that I am not great at is carpeting boxes.  My main problem is finding a glue to hold up the the heat of a vehicles interior during the summer months here in southern Arizona.  seeing 110-125^ in a sitting car is common.  I have tried 3M super 77, pretty much everything out of a spray can.  I think I may try shooting contact cement out of a gun, not sure on thinning it if need be though.  Any tips would be great thanks.

contact cement is the only way to go. dont thin it, just spray it on the carpet and box, wait until both sides feel slightly dry to the touch, and go to town on it.

i use a "BINKS" type setup that uses a 3 gallon pot with about 35 feet of hose with the spray gun atached to the hose. i have lots of mobility that way.

x2 on the contact cement. That is the only material I like for putting carpet on enclosures. I have always done it with a brush though, never with a spray gun. It would be easier with a gun though.

We get the stuff from the Wholesale Upholstery supplier located near us.   If you have a supplier that you use for carpet, vinyl and fabric, try there.
