I am very interested in purchasing a set of JL Audio Components, but I have a concern. I have a Phoenix Gold Xenon 200.4 (200 watts per channel) that I really like and plan to keep. But I fear that this amp will be too much for the JL's. Can anybody confirm or deny this? If it is too much, can anybody suggest an alternative that is not too expensive?
Thank You
Shaun

Im running cerwin 6x9's at 240w rms right now... I think they are rated at 1/2 that. My x-over frequency and safe preset signal levels protect the speakers from harm. What price range are you thinking?
This is what I do for FUN!

As long as the gains are matched correctly, you'll have no issues. I run 150+RMS to my mids in my doors. What's their power handling? 10W. Over 330 to the 120W woofers in the doors. Over 1100 to the 600W woofers.
I won't be held responsible if you cook 'em, I'm just saying that it is perfectly safe to run whatever size amplifier you can lay hands on, to ANY speaker you decide to connect it to.
An amp will only output as much power as your right hand tells it to, providing the levels are matched correctly...
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
