2000 Bmw 540ai radio removal

Could anyone please give me some help on how to remove the radio from this car, i need to install a modulated sat. radio system.  I was hoping to be able to use the antena wire that is in the trunk but it did not work if anyone could give me some input on how to get this hooked up in this car it would be very appreciated  thanks    d. clark

You need the BMW HU removal tool to slide underneath the locks to unlock the deck from the dash.

you can also grind off the nibs on some pioneer tools and put them in at an angle.

Where are the locks, are they on the side after i take the trim off? Thanks for the help

They are on the bottom of the deck under the  trim usually.
