Hi.. I have a rev cam which says working on a 5V..The model is Eclipse BEC 106..Can i wire it directly to 12V without damaging the camera. Its not plug n play coz my HU is a Kenwood. Thanks.

But any USB port will be fine.

Any other method besides the usb port?
e.g resistor or voltage regulator?

Yes, USB car adaptor or voltage regulator.
But not a resistor, tho a resistor and Zener diode is ok, but then you'd get a (proper) voltage regulator instead.
