97 Accord EX install...need help!

I've got a 1997 Honda Accord that I just sent home without a working radio. I was installing a JVC El Kameleon CD Player, when all of the sudden, I couldn't turn on the reciever. I found out that it is the remote wire. I have checked the fuse, and it is OK. I even replaced the fuse just to make sure it wasn't barely blown. So now I have a remote wire for the amp, and the CD player has a remote wire that it needs to turn itself on when the keys are in the ACC or ON position, and I cant find anything to hook it up to that only has power in the ACC or ON position. I tried wiring it to the clock, but I had NO luck, and the hazards wont work cause they got continuous power. I have tried the ciggarette lighter also, but it appears to have constant +12V power. I have also tried to hook it up to illumination and dimmer wires, but with no luck. I have looked through here, and the only thing I can see is splicing into the factory harness for the yellow/white antenna trigger, because I dont think my connector is working. I bought an aftermarket connector at Wal-Mart, and it has all of the right connections. It works when I hook up the radio and amp's remote wires to the +12V ciggarette lighters power, but it doesn't shut off when I turn the car off. Does anybody have any ideas of why the factory remote wire isn't working, and whether or not the yellow/white wire will work. I don't care if the amp doesn't turn off, because obviously, if there is no music going to the amp, its not wasting any power, and I doubt the little LED on the amp is gonna draw that much power overnight. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 It seems to me there is a very simple solution. If you bought the connector at Walmart,  the acc wire is a red one on it. (yellow/red is the wire it traces back to on the car side plug.) If the red wire has no power when the key is on, check the fuse labeled "radio" in the kickpanel fuse box. The yellow/white wire is the power antenna feed wire and should be hooked to the blue wire on your JVC. The remote for the amplifier should be connected to the blue/white of the JVC.
