I have a Kenwood KRC-630 Receiver cassette deck 4channel with cd controller, bought at a yard sale. I'ld love to use it but I didn't get the mounting sleeve with it. Kenwood doesn't list this model, and so far I havn't been able to find the info I'm looking for on the web. Definently discontinued. I've got brackets and plan to mount it under dash in an older car. I would like to bypass the mounting sleeve altogether, so I'll need to somehow ID each wire at  the back of the unit. any help is greatly appreciated.

Contact Kenwood. They sell the older sleeves for about $150 if i recall. Alpine does the same thing.
The reason they cost this much is to deter thieves from snatching a radio and trying to buy a sleeve for it later.
This is also why generally, it's not recommended to ever acecpt a pull-out stereo without the sleeve and wiring harness.
I would give Kenwood a call though, and explain to them that you need a second sleeve and harness for this model.
If I recall, that model is about 8 or 10 years old. I had a KRC-555 back about 1989. I think yours is around the same era or a year or two newer.

also check around at some of your local car audio shops alot of shops use cars factory mounting brackets to install radio's,so they may have a sleeve laying around that might work, you never know but it's worth a shot
