I am about to install some new speakers in my 2002 rodeo but I need to know which speaker wires are positive and which are negative.  I am replacing all door and tweater speakers.  I persume that the front door has a crossover that then goes to the woofer and tweeter so if I know which is positive and negative going into the crosover that is fine too

With the system turned on, use a multimeter to test each pair of speaker wires for voltage.  If you get positive voltage, the wire touching the red test lead is your positive speaker wire;  if you get negative voltage, the wire touching the black test lead is your positive speaker wire.

Also if you just have the wires leading to the speakers, you can connect up a wire to the positive and negativer terminals of a AA battery and look at the speaker to see which direction the cone moves.  If it moves outward (away from its magnet) then the wire touching the battery's positive connection is the positive wire.  If the cone moves inward (towards its magnet) then the wire touching battery's negative connection is the positive wire.

Okay here is the status I still have to do the front left speakers, but the back both had black, and red wires going to the speakers red positive, black negaitve, and the front right where blue and yellow, blue positive, yellow negative.  I hope this can help out any users wanting to install speakers in a 2002 rodeo

peace

Joe
