I was just wanting to ask you all when I put a second battery inside my vehicle how well does it have to be vented? I am using an Optima Yellow top in my Suburban and the second battery is in the cargo area. Can I just have a small tube that goes to the outside, or do I need to have a larger opening with a fan and everything? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

According to the IASCA rulebook a minimum vent diameter of 1/4" is required to the outside of the vihicle but fans are not required.

optima batts are sealed they don't need to be vented, but it will not hurt to vent it.

Thanks IAUDIO, that is what I was wondering on the vent size. I know the optima is sealed but knew that their rules said needed to be vented somehow.
