I have a 2002 Chevy Cavalier.  I just purchased a JBL BP600.1 amp for a 10" RF HE2 sub wired to 2 ohms.  How much power is my amp drawing from my battery and would I be smart to get a higher output alternator?

That amp draws a max of about 47 amps. As far as letting you know if you should get a new alt I would first need to know how many amps the stock one puts out. If you call an auto parts store or the dealer they will tell you the output. But do your lights dim when the bass hits?
