I am setting up a test system for a buddy and ran into a confusing problem with a JVC amp. I've checked the ground, ran opposite power and audio cables. power fuse, battery, internal & external fuses. the turn on light comes on but when trying to power the sub (12" Audiobahn)even with the amp gain at 3/4 up it gets a poor sounding crackling sound through the sub. the sub was ran in 8 and 2 ohm still nothing.... please help me with this dilemma

the amp is the KS-AX4750 model, i've tried to use another sub ( Crystal Mobilesounds' CMP 12),  and i thought about running another set of rca's from his amp to the head unit in my car.......still no positive results

Well, that's deffinately the wrong amp for the job anyway. It's a 2-channel amp that's only 4ohm Mono stable. You're apparently using a 4ohm DVC. Wired in Series (8ohms) wont get much sound as it is, and wiring in Parallel (2ohms) will more than likely send the amp into protect mode.
What are the RMS specs of the Audiobahn and Crystal Mobilesounds subs? And I take it that they are both 4ohm DVC's?

the specs of the amp are. 4ohm stable to 2 ch. 2 ohm stable operation and even up to 8 ohm compatible. the audiobahn is 500rms and the cmp12 1000w... either way im not trying to blast the subs and kill the amp but i think the amp was shot before i even tried..lol  but im not pushin the amp to its limits im just lookin for the right bump and why it won't produce power (any)

First, I think you've got the ohms reversed in your mind. 8ohm compatible is no big deal, the lower the ohm load the less resistance there is. So a 2ohm stereo stable amp will always be 4 ohm stereo stable, as well as 8ohm stable. But the power output at 8ohms is minimal, which is why most manufacturers don't even list it.
Even though you are 2ohm Stereo stable, you are only 4ohm Mono stable.
You're best bet at a new amp is going to be one rated around 500 x 1 @ 2ohms. A mono amp (Class D or similiar) is better suited for subs then a Class A/B multi-channel amp. If you can find one, a JBL BP600.1 would be a cheap, reliable upgrade for an amp. Either way, you need a new amp. Like I said, look for a Class D Mono amp rated at least 500 x 1 @ 2ohms
