Which way for higher spl?

I have two pioneer 15s and a profile 800watt amp playin a 2 ohms in a 92 toyota camry. currently i have the speakers facing the trunk opening. would i get higher spl if the speakers were facing into the car.

Are you looking for an actual number or an audible difference? It varies from car to car and setup to setup. But generally you will hear the most bass with the subs firing toward the trunk opening. I would suggest you try different positions and see which ones sound best. Also you may want to consider building a vent/port in the rear deck to allow the trunk to breath. It will increase the bass in the cabin.

having the openings from the speakers will allow the sound from the trunk into the cabin.  As to which way they should face, keep in mind that a 50hz wave takes 22.5" to complete a full wavelength.  In some cases setting up the system so that the wave completes near your ear you can get the most impact, thus you face them to the rear.  Corner loading also can increase the effect of bass on a system.  Best thing to do is move them around til you find your personal favorite spot.  Also, make sure you take off any bass boost to start and add back in as needed in the final location

i really hope that people are not saying removing speakers in the rear deck is the same as porting the box.   This may make a smaller impact but actually porting or venting the box will provide a larger increase in spl.    I personally recomend vents if you will be listening to this on the street i find vents are much cleaner and if done with a quality sub you can achieve the sound quality of a sealed box while using a vented box......if you need help designing a box feel free to contact me or post again and i am sure many people will help
