01 intrepid hook up amp to factory radio

you'll need a "line out converter" if your amp doesn't have a "high level input".  you can purchase one at a parts store, or a car audio dealer.  they're pretty cheap.  the remote turn on needs to go to a power lead that's only active when the ignition is on.  or you can hook it to the "power antenna" lead on the back of your head unit.  i recommend using a tester and splicing it to a ignition-on hot lead.  it's easy.  the line out converers are made to turn speaker wire from the deck (high level) to rca jacks (low level).  you can disconnect the connectors from the rear speakers, then adapt them to the line out converter.  then run rca's from there to the amp, and new speaker connections from the amp to the speakers.

I disagree that a line out converter is cheap...yes, you can buy cheap, not adjustable ones, but they suck pretty bad.  noisy, low level signal at best.  If I'm forced to do it this way, I've been using PIE's PDC-LOC which can be used in "both" directions.  it takes speaker level and converts it to RCA, or vice versa. 

very large module, but the quality and adjustability are MINT.  well worth the cash if ur gonna stick with the factory deck imho.
