1991 Lumina Speaker Trouble

I am having trouble wiring my 1991 Chevrolet Lumina 3.1 Euro Edition. The car came with the optional Delco/Bose system installed. I have since removed the Bose deck and rear 6x9 speakers. There was an amp in the rear deck that powered the rear speakers. I have then installed a Pioneer DEH-5 deck and installed 2 Pioneer Speakers in the rear deck. The original bose amp had a mess of wires running into it. The wires have been cut and are waiting for instalation. My problem is that i found the four wires that were supposed to be used to power the 2 6x9's, but i had them wired up for about 30 sec and the whole system whent dead. The ground is connected to metal but there are two other sets of cords (ORANGE / black) that were used for the amp most likey since they have power straight from the battery. What should i do with the remaing wires and how do i get it to work? Any help would be so very greatful...I have been working on it for weeks and cant find a solution. personally i have just ran my own speaker wires in the past it is much quicker and alot less hassle.........the louder the better !!!!!!

u gotta always bypass factoy bose amps, i would have just ran speaker wire

Don't try and use any of the factory radio/audio components except the antenna. The Bose system uses speakers with impedances of anywhere form 1/2 to 2 ohm. Run new speaker lines from the new radio to all four speakers and repalce all four speakers or you may fry your new radio.sparky

Those systems generally use GM factory wire colors going into the amp and "special Bose wiring" coming out. Look for the following Dk Blue, Lt Blue, Brn, Ylw. Those would be your hi level inputs coming from the deck. In turn take these and jump them to the new rears. Never have I had to run new wires on a Bose system. Use the existing to your advantage. If your unsure due to multiple wires of the same color, play a test tone on repeat and measure AC on your meter. You'll get it!Someone pass me that bottle.
