Hello,

I have a question about installing a stereo in my toyota 4 runner. Well I ended up winning an auction on ebay http:///.com/ebaymotors/dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=38639&item=2453560043&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWN%3AIT

Ok, well I had a different stereo installed in my toyota 4 runner and I ended up taking out this stereo, which was wired to the truck, I cut the wires out, and took it out. Then, cause I have a junk 88 4 runner at my house, I cut out the wiring harness from there, and put it in my 4 runner, which is the same year. Then I just plugged in the harness to the stereo. What ended up happening was that the stereo powered up, but no sound came out of it. I dont know if I did something wrong or what. Could somebody please help me out. I matched up the colors, but now I dont know what exactly is the problem. thx

May the future bring you more joy then pain.

Put the original back in to see if it still works, if it does I would have a closer look a the cd player you bought off of e-bay. Reconnect the E-bay cd player for power, ignitoin, ground and hook up a new speaker to it, any speaker will do. Test each pair of speaker wires, 1 pair at a time. If you have no output on these speaker lines, then my friend you just became an e-bay statistic, you might well have bought a cd player with blown output IC's. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I do not condone buying anything on the net, it is totally buyer beware.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
