Going to try to post this agains since the first one didnt seem to post. But anyway here is the scenerio. I am getting 2 12" JL w6v2 put into my honda. It is getting powered by a memphis belle mc 1300. memphis says its 1100x1 @1ohm. If this is rms or not i am not sure, but i am pretty sure it is close to its actual wattage. Anyway i just got a call from the stereo shop saying that my amp will not even tickle this sub and that it can handle 3000watts. I know that the later parts is complete BS, i am pretty sure it is bs for a w7 also. So who is the dumb ass me or the installer. I thought i did my homework...according to the JL webiste 500watts is the ideal power for the 12" w6v2. Any thought or opinions that may ease my mind? Thanks everyone.

Your installer is full of crap. Your 12W6V2's are rated at 400 watts RMS. The MC1300D (a kick ass amp but BOY is it big) is rated at 1100 watts RMS into 1 ohm on Channel 5. This will overpower your subs by about 50% if you wire them for 1-ohm.

heres a little advice for ya. get yourself an installer who actually knows what hes talking about.

Is he a new salesman? next time you go in there you and him should read the box togther ( he may need help reading, you never know)

Hehe, yeah maybe i should, and they told me my amp sucked....i think i am going to go and get my car now and do the crap myself.

Someone who says Memphis amps "suck" is trying to sell you some other brand. Or they are just plain ignorant.

My vote is IGNORANT but that is no defense for the salesperson's stupidity. You are correct.
