HI,

I have a 1995 Dually Silverado Ext Cab. I am looking to put a system in the truck. This is my tow rig so I want to have something good in the truck when I travel across country to go to different race events. I have talked with a buddy of mine and he said he can get me Infinity stuff for dirt cheap. So more or less I am going to go with Infinity stuff in the car. I have already picked out my components out along with amps and subs with a headunit as well.

My questions is this. Does anyone make a box which goes UNDER the rear seat for 2 10 inch subs down fireing? I have looked on e bay and I really cant find much. Everything I find is only 5 inches deep. The subs require apx 6-6.5 inches. I would also need to space the subs out from the bottom so when they hit it would not his the carpet on the floor.

If anyone can shed some light it would be great. Pictures, info, websites anything would be helpful to me.

Thanks,
Karo

You can try the crutchfield website. The ones I see are for 1 10" but it fits on only one side so I dont see why you cant buy two.   I have a 2002 Silverado and I made  my own box. It fits one side and holds an 8 inch kicker solo baric. I may have been able to make it  big enough for a 10 but I think it would have been tight. If you have the skill you can buy a sheet of 3/4 MDF for about $20 Those custom boxes are not cheap as you will see by checking the link I provided. You can also try searching for things like JL audio stealth box.

Thanks for the info.

I know they sell single sub boxes made for the car. I am really looking into getting a box made for 2 10s for the truck. I know I will need to take out the jack and the tire iron from the passanger side of the rear seat (no big deal) but the rest I dont know. As you said its a VERY tight fit no matter what I put back there.... I was just looking for some insight on what others have done...

How does your single 8 inch sound? Down Fire? Up Fire? Or Fires to the back seat?

Thanks,
Karo

It fires down. It doesnt sound bad but, the amp I had put in there had problems and I havent gotten a permanent one to replace it yet. I have been working on other projects. I am temporarily using a small low powered Jensen it sounds ok but I am anxious to see what it sounds like when I get the one I want in there. You could easily make two boxes one for each side. Im not sure how much different the 95 is from the 02 but, I doubt its all that much so I have a pretty good idea what your working with.

Well the hump on the 95-98 is diff then 99+ for some odd reason. The subs which I am getting require apx .75 QBFt of room so its not that big of a deal. They have a I need a box which is apx 6.25 inch deep and about 1 inch from the out side since the sub comes out that much.. if that makes sense... I may do what you said.. 2 diff box's will make life much easier prob. I'll see what happens soon as I get the subs.....

BTW where did you mount your amp(s)? I was thinking I could do mine under the driver/pass seats.... since they are kinda on the big side....

Thanks,
Karo

I mounted the amps on the center hump. I simply made a flat board from the mdf and screwed the amps to it. I used an L bracket to attach the board to the  sub box.  I carpeted the whole thing with matching carpet and it looks great very stealthy. If you look in the truck you cant tell its not factory. You wouldnt see the box or the amps. Should be no problem building two boxes because one big one usually has a divider anyway. I am looking to power it with a Fosgate 300 x 1 with remote level control. That should make it sound pretty good. I also stuffed the box with polyfill.

10 inch subs are going to be more of a challenge but with determination I am sure you will get it.

I need to know HOW to remove the panels inside my 94 Chevey ext. cab to install speakers in the stock locations on each side of the window: I'm sure the seat belt anchors 9top and bottom) have to be removed; anything thing else?

Thanks in advance!

Doug

Check out www.probox.com they manufacture a box for your application that fits two 10" subs. It fits under the rear seat and is a downfiring box, I think each chamber is around 0.80 cu. ft., So I think it will be the ideal enclosure you are looking for.

Scratch that, sorry, the website isn't up anymore, but check around your local shops, I am pretty sure someone deals probox.
