I installed a 12" Rockford Fosgate subwoofer in my back trunk this last christmas.  The problem I have been having is that my rear speakers rattle a lot.  I'm not sure if it's a dynamat problem or if my speakers just need some rubber washers placed around them.  The speakers in the rear are right about the subwoofer in the trunk.  They are also mounted on MDF templates.  So i'm not sure at all where all this rattling is coming from.  To help me save money I could really use some advice, thank you.

Do they only rattle when the bass hits?  Foam gaskets (aka speaker hats) from Crutchfield.com are great for rear deck speakers.  They isolate them somewhat from the pressure created by trunk located subwoofers and provide a good cushioned seal around the speaker.  Got to run, but I'll try to find you a link if you can't find it.

You didn't say whether you covered the rear deck sheet metal with Dynamat.  That is essential.  Remove the speakers when doing so, and press into all the contours.  If you have it exposed and press on it while the bass is playing, you'll feel the stress in the metal that is causing the rattling sound.  Also, do the trunk lid, and you might also need to do some on some sheet metal at the sides of the trunk.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
