i want to run an Adire Shiva 12" Sub off an MTX Thunder 421D

the Sub is dual 8ohm V.C.

the amp runs 420w RMS x 1 @ 2 ohm.

how can i wire it to run 2 ohms? i know if i wire it amp +positive+ to both VC +positives+'s and same w/ the negative it will run 4ohms, is there a way to get it to 2 ohms without adding a second subwoofer? thanks. ~Ryan

also, if anyone knows any websites that have shiva's in stock please let me know! (backordered till late january!)

Nope. Wire in parallel and you get 4 ohms. It will work fine.

Remember the shiva doesn't require a lot of power. You want that amp to run @ 4 ohms because the shiva is a dual 8 ohm woofer, so just wire it down to 4 ohms and you'll be fine.

but how is this POSSIBLE because his amp p uts out 420RMS *1 but at 2 oHms not 4ohms how will he be able to run it like this ? i dont understand beacuse i plan on dropping in a adire shiva in a cpl mo nths and selling the 12w3v2 i have.

http://www.bcae1.com/ohmslaw.htm for a peek at why your amp will perform with a 4 ohm load. An amplifier doesn't care what impedance your speakers are, it just reacts to the impedance load that the speakers put on it. When you put a 2 ohm load on it, the specs claim that it will output 420 watts. Then if the load were double that (double the resistance) at 4 ohms, Ohm's Law tells us that the amp will output half the power.
