i have the 745 model deck, does anyone know if it uses burr brown dacs?

if not what kind does it use?

i know that the drz9255 use burr brown, any info on the 745?

Well, I was able to find a 945 deck, and a 755 deck, but no 745. None of the "lower end" units specify the type of DAC used, but I would expect, if not a Burr Brown or National, probably a Crystal. Inexpensive, mass-market stuff, but Crystal DOES have some very good DAC chips available...

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

what does the 945 and 755 use?

Again, same answer applies. They are not specified, so I expect (or suspect) a "lower-end" DAC.

The 745 uses a crystal DAC, at least I am 85% sure of that and I know for sure that it is NOT a Burr Brown

According to Clarion tech:

The 745/755 uses a Sanyo or Toshiba part, The 945 uses a lower grade Burr-Brown, and the 9255 the higher grade Burr-Brown.

I have a DXZ925, and from what I understand from reading on the net and having guys tell me, mine has the Burr-Brown DAC's.....not sure if that helps, but thought you'd like to know.
