I have a fosgate amp model p4004 & 2004 Silverado Crew Cab
1) My original head unit does not have a remote wire on the back, it only has an ignition connection. I taped into it to use for a remote line, but my amp did not turn on, so I used my battery line to check my amp and it turned on just fine. So my question is: Where can I find a remote line on my pickup that I can use to hook up my amp?
2) I have a peripheral Sven4 device to allow connection of RCA output from my head unit. Do I have to hook up all 4 speaker wires on this device to the back of my head unit to be able to use all 4 speaker connections on the amp?
Thank you,
Fernando

Well your radio doesn' have an ignition connection, it is turned on and off by the Class 2 data bus in the vehicle. If your vehicle is the BOSE system then there is a 12 volt analogue amp turn on. If it is not a BOSE system then you could use the GMACC from SoundGate to get a 12 volt turn on. The GMACC monitors the Class 2 data bus to give you the turn on lead.

I tapped into a fuse in the engine compartment fuse box for a remote turnon before replacing my factory head. I use the same tap for my aftermarket deck switched turn on now. Just takes trial and error or a meter to find a switched one. Also I believe the cigarette lighter is a switched 12V source.
