Hiya Forum!

I hate to have my first post being something so stupid, but, sometimes you just gotta ask.

I am going to be building an enclosure for a single 12" driver.  I am wanting to use a rectangular port.  My question is this:

Do I include the volume of the port itself, and the material used to construct it, in the volume of the enclosure?

For example:  Say the box needs to be 1.5ft3  Does this include the volume created by the port, or is it in addition to the port?

Hopefully this is a very stupidly easy question.

Add the total displacement of the port to the volume of the box (so all materials added as well), so your gross volume might be 1.61 cu.ft. and the net volume 1.5 cu.ft.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Wow!  That was quick!

That is what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks a bunch!
