Alright so I have 2 JL 10W7's and 2 JL 500/1 Amps and a 300/4 Pushing my mids and highs. What should I set all the settings on the amps to, to get the best possible sound. Their in a 91 eagle talon TSi hatchback.

Thanks

Nice car.
Try reading the manuels that came with the amps. JL makes outstanding product literature.
There isn't anything anyone here will tell you that can't be had a visit to their website eh?

I would use your low pass on the 500's and set crossover freq low as it will go. as for mids use high pass and just make sure they are not getting to much bass. find u a good track to listen to ,play it make adjustments and play again till u like how it sounds

I think he means things like "what do i turn the 'q' knob to on my 500/1?" not "whats a lp filter?"
...ppl always dump up on this board with posts just like his "I just spent $450 on an amp I don't understand"
If you'll spend the $2000 it takes to buy his list of equipment, why can't you spend 30 minutes learning how it works?

*Yawn*
Okay so I'm being crabby.
Here's me answering that question fully for someone else.
Try running a forum search with "500/1" and about 1000000 hits for ppl with the *exact* same question will come up.
Just to tell ya ur starting settings:
300/4 - HP Filter @80hz
500/1 - LP filter @80hz, 12dB/octave slope, Q 1 - 1.5, Center freq about 55hz or so.
I guess I finish it for ya if you post back with your box size, head unit, etc.

Sigh..... Im not completely idiotic when it comes to setting the amps configuration. And yes I can read the manual but the manual doesn't specifically say what to set it at with the amount of air space and everything available. I was hoping someone on here had either a laser, talon, or eclipse, from 90-94 that had maybe had the amp and had found some settings that sounded pretty good. All I was asking for was a little help. Not criticism from people that didn't read my post. Searching for the answer in the forum search proved nothing. But hey thanks for that, because I wasn't smart enough to think of that first....

Forums are for help, and peoples experiences, not "Search this, search, that, oh why buy somthing you can't figure out." Sigh...

Oh I'm so sorry. I didn't realize that you wanted something that cannot be provided with the information in your post!
Gosh, let me go get my mind-reading hat and concentrate really hard and then I'll know what ur talking about..
Actually, the settings on your amps have little to do with the actual car they're in... much more do with the type of enclosure your woofers are playing in and the type of 'hand-off' they do to the mid-ranges/main cabin speakers. (Which, b/c Talon's are hatchbacks, ought leave you with better results at the 12db/octave slope setting.)   The airspace in the vehicle itself really doesn't have much to do with it, save the ultimate output of the system... the actual amp-tuning is a speaker-centric excercise.
By the way, even if someone here *was* driving a TalonTSi with your list of equipment, you forgot one piece of vital information... i.e., the type of enclosure (including the port-tune, if applicable) you are using as well as the HU and make/model of your cabin speakers..
*Yawn*
I hate criticism from people that didn't even read my post.
