I'm installing a Pioneer KEH 2929 stereo into my Jeep Wrangler.  Everything works fine except that the head unit display is too dim to read in any light conditions.  There is a yellow wire from the JEEP wiring harness that is labelled 'dimmer' but there is no wire from the stereo itself.

Is there any other way to brighten up the display?

Thanks, Dave

Check with deck off, press and hold function button, then scroll thru settings to see if it has a brightness setting. most newer ones have it.

This is a fairly old head unit, probably 10 years old.  It's a Pioneer KEH 2929 cassette deck.  As far as I can tell from the manual and from examining the unit, there is no function button.

If its that old im not sure. dimmer wire wouldnt have anything to do with it. if it the old one with block letter display i dont think there is much u can do. time for a new deck maybe!
