Sub enclosure?

I have never built a box before & would like a link or article for a good how to (step by step)for beginners pics would be cool. I'm also not real sure on how to determine the proper air space.

On a ported enclosure what does tuned to 30hz or 43hz mean & how is it done.

Would a ported enclosure be too difficult for my first box?

have you checked out the calculaters on the left hand side of this site? tuning on a ported enclosures is done with the port. diameter and length. as far as being to difficult thats up to you. and how well you understand things. just read woofer enclosures at the left and i believe thier is some links on that page to.
