I sure do. You have to call eclipse and prove to them that the deck belongs to you. Then they will help you

Or take it to any authorized dealer and have them do it on your behalf. In either case, you must be able to prove that you are the legal owner of the cd player.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

I doubt there is any way round it. If there was that would defeat the purpose of the security. I personally own an Eclipse deck and I love ESN!

This kind of hijacks the topic.. but i fail to see the point in ESN.   I mean, the unit doesnt have a detachable face, so it still has the appeal to be stolen. Sure the idiot who stole it cant use it, but neither can i now, becuase he stole it!   Not to mention that he may have tore my dashboard apart to steal it. When a detachable face could have made him move along to another car.
Maybe someone can shed some light on this.

Well then maybe he will read the warning sticker and move on to another car.

Nah I agree totally.  When I was looking at that feature I thought the exact same thing.  The only thing I can think of is a thief that knows what he's doing knows not to steal those but if not it's basically pointless.  I can just see it...

"Umm, hi, I stole this from you last week but I can't get it to work so here ya go, you can have it back."

From what Ive been told by several ppl is that after you buy it and send in your registration card, Should it get stolen you report it right away to eclipse as well as the cops. Then when whomever stole it calls eclipse or takes it into an authorized dealer to get it unlocked, they first check to see if it was stolen. If it is and they are calling eclipse a trace of some sort (phone or satellite) is done and the cops are alerted of their location. If they walked into a store to do it the place is locked down and the cops are called.

haha; I doubt their tactics for catching criminals are that involved, that sounds like a huge commitment of time and resources.  Especially considering most police agencies are hesitant to even send an officer out to the scene of a vehicle burglary.   I heard that same thing years ago when they first started with the ESN system, or that the eclipse rep they talk to on the 800 number gives them an address so they can send in the deck to be unlocked.   I haven't had the unfortunate opportunity to deal with the ESN replacement guarantee, but I do know they don't lock a store down and send in the SWAT team for a $300 radio(Unless they happen to walk into Forbidden's shop, right?)
