Ok, so I had nothing to do this weekend so I installed a Commando FM-870 (I know, not the best) remote starter in my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. I am using the CHDL3 bypasskit also for the locks.
Everything works great, except anytime when the lights flash (unlock or lock), my instrument cluster backlights flash too. Also, my gear selector indicator kit and odometer LEDS are lit at all times.
Is this due to me forgetting to put the correct resistor on the purple\yellow or should I dive in somewhere else to try to resolve this?
Thanks, this is a great site.

The purple \ yellow wire behind the headlight switch. I went through and disconnected it (the tap) last night, but I didn't check to see if the cluster lights flashed or not (me = stupid). The gear select light and odom lights stayed on so I am wondering if it has to do with the door trigger or not (since the odom lights usually come on with when the door is opened.)
thanks,

The parking lights are triggered thru resistance. Using a relay connect like this.

You need to cut the wire. pin 87a will get the switch side, 30 gets the other.

85 is your (POS)+ parking light output. 86 is ground. And 87 is ground with a 270 ohm resistor "in line"
