hey i'm in the proess of hooking up the domelight supervision function on my viper 500 alarm in my 95 eclipse.  i found the wire to tap into for the domelight but i was wondering if there's a way to keep the 'door ajar' light from coming on when the domelight's turned on by the alarm?  the alarm puts out a (-) signal which i'm hooking up to a relay.  the domelight trigger on the car itself is a negative trigger.  it's not that big a deal but i was just wondering if there's a simple way from isolating the domelight from the door trigger.  thanks!

Are you turning on the domelight by sending a negative to the door wire? I have domelight sup hooked up to the domelight swtich on my blazer and it doesn't trip the door ajar warning.
You could use a relay cutting the domelight wire close to the light itself

yea my car uses negative triggers for the doors and domelight. my alarm puts out a negative signal and i have that wired to a relay to give the domelight a solid ground (the alarm doesn't draw enough current to power the lights). i know in some other threads concerning domelights w/ similar problems w/ door trigger some people mentioned cutting the wire and inserting a diode. would this be something i could do?

oh also with the wire i'm tapping into for the domlights, there's a couple other of the same color that i found which only act as door triggers and do not turn on the domlights. these wires connect to the one that does turn on the domelight in miniature harness. this kinda leads me to believe that the circuit is setup as follows:
                        door trigger------- +12v
                     (door ajar light)
                               |
(-)doorpin ---------|----------------|------------------domelight------ +12v
(ground)                                      |
                                          (-) alarm
                                    domelight supervision
if this is how it's setup i would think i could just cut the wire where i'm tapping (between alarm and door trigger) and insert a diode to prevent the alarm signal from providing a ground to the door trigger.
