I've installed a Viper 550ESP without any problems.
Everything works as it is supposed to.
The alarm only came with 1 remote so I purchased a second remote but I'm having a problem programming the new remote.
I can't get the system to go into the learn mode.
All the other programing function work, the valet button works fine.
I followed the instructions to the letter but can't get a chirp.
Door open, key on, press valet button 8x and hold on the 9th to program the new remote all at once but it will not chirp.
Is there a setting on the brain that will not allow a new remote to be programmed?
What am I missing?

When adding a new remote, you have to program channel five first for standard configuration. Once you have done that then you can program channel 8 (auto learn )

I dont think there was a  Bitwriter option to "LOCK remote programming", but I'm not positive. DOUBLE CHECK the system sees the door open and that the ignition is on.  Make sure you have a good valet switch.  There is a RED switch port, thats for the VRS, you want the BLUE port I beleive.

I can't program any channel , that's the problem the brain won't let me into the learning mode.

I'm plugged into the blue port,It sees the open door and the ignition being on. The valet works for any other use except letting me into the learning mode.

I decided to pull the fuses in hopes of it resetting itself...after about 30min I reinstalled them and now was able to program the remote.
Thanks for all your suggestions...
Rob
