Hi everyone,  this is my first time posting a question on this site but I am hoping someone can help me think of a reason I am having a problem installing the ProStart 2-way remote starter model 3471 on my daughter's  1997 Sunfire.  I have been a first class mechanic for 28 years but electrical is not my favorite part of the job.  I have previously installed 3 starters but haven't come across this problem, which is; after installation, the car starts and then stalls right away.  On the CT3471 there is a second ignition output green wire ; can this be hooked directly up to the ignition switch, without a relay?  I would appreciate any comments about this.

Well, is this green wire a positive output?  If it is, you should hook that up to your 2nd ignition wire on the car, which is white.

Are you aware that you have an ignition anti-theft device in that car? It is called GM Passlock 1.

The GREEN 2nd IGN output wire needs to go to the WHITE wire at the ignition switch. There are jumpers on the side of the CPU that should be defauted to 2nd IGN. Also, what bypass module did you use ?

Thanks everyone,  I thought the need for the Passlock only started with the 98 models.......thanks to all. I went to the ProStart site and they say to use the PATSK-600m does that sound right?

is there a small black and silver resistor in sticking out of the metal part of the key? if so, you can use a resistor with a relay to bypass the antitheft system
