I am installing a Viper 5901 in a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel. Everything was going fine until the end. I have the alarm powered and grounded, and the neutral safety switch is grounded and hooked up. I went to plug the RED / white and RED / black into the 12volt wire and they kicked on. The RED / white turned the ignition on and the red black kicked the starter on, without the key. The only way to turn it off was to disconnect the wires. Does anyone know why this is happening, I have done plenty of remote starts and this is a first for me. Thanks for your help.

That's because your installation procedure is wrong.

Start by disconnecting all harnesses from brain.

Connect all necessary wires to vehicle - double check to be sure.

Connect 12 pin harness to module first.

Now connect the rest of the harnesses.

Never wire a module to vehicle while it's connected unless if the wires are soldered to the board in that case connect the ground first..

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.
