I have a Compustar alarm that has a seperate input for a back up battery, I used a larger size 12V house alarm battery. But that is besides the point, I connected my main battery to this back up battery. And, my main battery has been getting drained if my car sits for about 4-5 days without being started. This is where my question is: Should I diobe isolate my back up battery? If so, what kind of a diode?
Thanks

Are you saying your backup battery is draining your main battery? If you leave your backup battery unconnected, does it read a normal voltage above 12.7V?
Or are you more concerned with having your alarm work even if the car won't start?
