2009 camry, remote starter

I am trying to install a Remote starter in a 2009 Camry Le , not smartkey, no factory alarm. I have searched and found a few different modles of bypass modules. Now which one is the better way to go , key or no key ( transponder type ) to bypass this car.

No key required generally are much more reliable, all things considered. On that vehicle, 2 additional points: 1. Look for a bypass which connects at the steering column as opposed to the ECM. Bypasskit's PKT2/XK05 connect at the ECM and are a major nuisance because the supplied wire harness is too short to reach every point on the car that it needs to connect to. 2. If you were to use a Fortin bypass(not sure, but the following point may apply to iDatalink as well as some of the Bypasskit bypasses which are made by Fortin), make sure you program the bypass with the valet key. The master key, if used, will appear to program but it will not subsequently work during remote start - and since the bypass is designed to program only once, it's useless to you at this point. Agree with chriswallace. Ok, so your car comes with three keys, two masters and a valet. Do you need all three keys? If you want to save money, get a universal box and put your valet key in there. If you don't mind spending a little more, and/or you want to keep all of your keys: --The XK05 from bypasskit.com is stupid, don't use it. Installation is ridiculous, and it's not any cheaper than the competition anyway. Go to www.expressdownload.com and read the install guide if you want. --Fortin's KEY-OVERRIDE-SL2 is great. Easy install right at the column. Instructions included with product. --Fortin's KEY-OVERRIDE-ALL installs just like the SL2, but it costs a little more, because it can be used on many other cars too. If the SL2 isn't available, you can go ahead and spend the extra on the ALL, if you want. Fortin's tech support people are often very cold on the phone, although the instructions are pretty good that come with the product. --All the products from www.idatalink.com are very well-made, with high-quality wire and connectors. They have the best tech support too. However, instructions are not included with the product; you have to print them online.
