I lost my car key for my chevrolet aveo and as a result I have to use my spare key. Problem is, that when I use my spare key, the alarm goes off as the main key(the one I lost) uses keyless entry. I believe I have to disable the OEM alarm but I have no idea where is the wiring. I saw the information posted by mo12v which says
OEM Alarm Disarm      BLUE (-)      UNDER DRIVER STEP PLATE
but I really have no idea where is the wire under the driver step plate and I need some help going about disconnecting the wire. Any help is appreciated.n Thanks..

2004 chevrolet aveo alarm -- posted image.Alarm DisarmDARK BLUE(-)IN THE DRIVERS DOOR HARNESS OR AT THE RKE MODULE

According to Audiovox, the wire is in the harness that goes into the drivers door.  Open the door and locate the rubber boot that goes from the door to the chassis of the car.  get to that area inside the car and there will be a harness of wires,    It can also be found at the Remote Keyless Entry module.  That module is located under the center console.   This wire does not need to be disconnected, it needs to be grounded briefly to turn the alarm off.  Once it is disarmed this way, it should not rearm unless it is locked with the keyfob.  I would attach a wire to this wire and extend it to a reachable position, just incase you need to reground it at a later time.

Briefly touch it to a bolt that is not painted.  Or you may have to sand through the paint on a hidden spot of the chassis.  Touch the wire there and it should do the trick.

What about a chevrolet spark? Is there any way to disable the alarm without a remote key?
